Esther DeFreitas

Esther M. DeFreitas, age 93, of Paducah passed away at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, January, 4, 2020 at Baptist Health Paducah. Esther was a life long member of 12th Street Baptist Church and Twelve Oaks Baptist Church where she taught the Sunbeams Class. She was retired from J. C. Penney where she worked in Sales for 30 years.

Esther loved her family and was the center-stone of family activities and holidays gatherings. Esther named by her mother, from the book of Esther in the Bible, was the true Proverbs Chapter 31 woman,

Survivors include one daughter, Trudy Wyatt of Paducah; three sons, John M. DeFreitas of Boaz, KY, Rickie Dale Walden and fiance’, Janie Owsley of West Paducah, Ky and James “Jim” DeFreitas and wife, Brenda of Marion, KY; 14 grandchildren, Michael Foshay, Michelle Foshay, Josh Denton, Brett DeFreitas, Crystal Mills, Jimmy DeFreitas, Justin DeFreitas, Kaleena Dowdy, Shannon Johnston, Holly Adams, Jason Walden, Clarissa Walden, Shane Rice and Shawn Rice; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren,

Preceding in death was her husband, Walter “Walt” John DeFreitas; her parents, Andrew Staley & Ethel Ruark Staley; one son Dennis Earl Walden; one daughter, Claudia Agnes Denton; two brothers, Clarence “Buck” Staley and Roy “Moody” Staley.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Brandt Lyons and Danny Orazine officiating. Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
