Chris Elmer Vinson, age 55, of Paducah, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Chris was a member of Southland Baptist Temple for 41 years, where he became a Christian at the age of 14. He worked for Petter Supply for 30 years, also Hobby Lobby, and spent the last five years loving his job at the southside Walmart, where he never met a stranger and was quick with a smile. Chris had struggled the last several months battling multiple strokes and COVID-19. During his battles he never lost faith in God and continued to tell others of God’s mercy and grace. Each day in his life he would ask God to put someone in his path that he could witness to. When strokes took away his ability to take care of himself, he told the nurses that God was going to bless them. His love of life was contagious, being happy and content with even the smallest blessing.
Chris is survived by his mother, Shirley Bailey Vinson, of Paducah; his brothers, Darrel Vinson (Linda), of Calvert City, Kentucky, Stanley Vinson, of Paducah, Curtis Vinson (Carla), of Poughkeepsie, New York; his sister, Kimberly Kimball, of Paducah.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Jewell Lee Vinson.
All funeral services are private with Rev. Mike Bebout officiating.
