Winoka “Jere” Hammonds, age 88, of Paducah passed away at 8:14 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Jere was a long time member of the Highland Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Heath High School. Jere was a graduate of the Logan Chiropractic School in St. Louis. She enjoyed reading and traveling to see family. Jere retired from Lourdes Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist.
Survivors include five daughters, Jerla Gross (Paul) of Winston/Salem, NC, Joyce Chase of St. Albans, VT, Phyllis Hammonds of Paducah, KY, Julie Hammonds of Charlotte, NC and Janet Roberts of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Jared Gross (Sara), Ian Chase, Jill Winsett (Billy), Sean Chase (Tiffany) and Jennifer Roberts and fiance’ Madison Jarrett; four great-grandchildren, Ryder Winsett, Kyzer Winsett, Alexander Gross and Julian Gross.
Preceding in death was her husband, John Robert Hammonds; parents, John Riley McNatt & Rose Bell Baker McNatt; and one grandson, Justin Gross.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Bernice Belt officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
