Well done thou good and faithful servant, were the words that Glenn Otey heard on Feb 21, 2017 when his heavenly father called him to his heavenly home.
Glenn was a loving and caring and gentle soul who was loved by many, not only family but many friends and co-workers as well. Glen was a US Army Veteran where he served in Vietnam, and served his country well. He also was an avid animal lover, and loved taking trips to the Smokey Mountains. When around Glenn you felt love and a calming effect, which he had like no other. Glenn worked as a Respiratory Therapist for Lourdes Hospital. He is survived by his wife Sharon Sturgeon Otey. Two daughters, Tealy Godfrey ( Ashbery) of Virginia and Christy Cook of Paducah, KY. Four Brothers, Harrell Gene Otey of Lowes, KY., Lawrence G. Otey of Wickliffe, KY., Donald G. Otey of Melber, KY., and Bobby L. Otey of Florida. Four grandsons, Dalton Strong, Blake Strong both of Lone Oak, KY. and A.J. Godfrey and Asher Godfrey both of Virginia, Two special great nephews, Seth Campbell and TY Campbell both of Lone Oak, KY. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Autrice Otey and Sora Virginia Gray Otey.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Keeling Family Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 11:00 a.m. till funeral hour.
