Walter Johnson

BENTON - Graveside services for Kenneth Johnson, 81, of Benton will be at 1 p.m. today at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Northcutt officiating.

Mr. Johnson died at 4 a.m. Monday at his home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Illinois Central Railroad, where he worked as a blacksmith and welder.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Castleman Johnson; one daughter, Janice K. Howard of Benton; one son, Kenneth Bruce Johnson of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; one brother, Richard Clark Johnson of Paducah; one sister, Judith Ann Johnson of Ledbetter; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers. His parents were Henry Ford Johnson and Frances Lucille Niekirk Johnson.

There will be no visitation. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lourdes Hospice, 2855 Jackson St., Paducah, KY 42003; or Oakland United Methodist Church, 8863 U.S. 68 West, Benton, KY 42025.
