Sam M. Blair, age 89, of Paducah passed away Saturday, at 9:42 p.m. at the Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Blair was a native of Kentucky. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company, and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Victory Assembly Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Judy F. Garrett of Michigan, and Yvette Shankle of Paducah; one sister, Mary Griffin of Paducah; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della M. Day Blair; two sons, Sammy M. Blair and Kenneth Blair; one brother, Paul A. Blair; and four sisters, Sylvia Huddleston, Christine Pullen, Goldie Burnett, Lillian Alexander.
His parents were Sug M. Blair and Irene Mc Elrath Blair.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary DeRossett officiating. Entombment will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery with military honors.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9:00 a.m. till funeral hour Thursday
