Ruth Dacus

Ruth Estelle Dacus of Gilbertsville, KY, was born on Friday, Jan. 20, 1922 abd passed away at on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. She was 94.

Ruth was the was the executive secretary for the engineering department at Air Products for 38 years. She was a member of the Briensburg United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline McCracken of Farmington, and Pamela Mathis and husband Mitch of Gilbertsville; one son, Douglas Hillyer and wife Linda of Lakeside Park; a step-son, Harold Dacus and his wife Frances of Gilbertsville; step-daughter, Patricia Smith and her husband Samuel of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Elsie Parker and husband Bailey of Paducah; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Dacus; and two sisters, Evelyn Little and Patsy Ann Gardner. Her parents were William Thomas Gardner and Ruby Mae Dunaway Gardner.

Services were held March 8, 2016 at the Pathway Babtist Church in Benton, KY. Interment followed at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
