Pearl Louise Adams, 87, of Paducah, passed away at Superior Care Home on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 12:03 p.m.
Pearl was born in Paducah on December 30, 1925. For over thirty years she worked in administration for Western Baptist Hospital as a bookkeeper and data processing department head.
She was a longtime member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church, where she served in the nursery for over fifty years. She was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Paul Patton and named a Duchess of Paducah. One of her greatest joys in life as well as an important area of service was loving and caring for babies and small children.
She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Elizabeth Gibbs and Albernette Willis of Greeneville, Tenn., Ophelia Lowe of Paducah, Marie Walden of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Elsie Fly of Ft. Scott, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Marvin Adams; and her parents, Thomas Marvin Adams and Lubie Vernice Morrow Adams.
Visitation for Miss Adams will be Friday, January 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at The Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Brandt Lyons and Rev. Louis Brinker will officiate. Burial will take place at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
