Nioma Hurst

May 21, 1935 — September 15, 2014

Nioma June Hurst, 79 of Paducah passed away at 6:55PM Monday, September 15, 2014 at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Paducah, KY.

She was a member of Zion's Cause Baptist Church. Given the higher calling being a Pastor's wife, Mrs. June graciously managed the ebb and flow of supporting her husband, the late Rev. Deward Hurst in faithful service to the churches he pastored, and working as his secretary for the Jonathan Creek Baptist Assembly for 5 years. Along with her husband, she served daily in word and deed and growing her own relationship with all they served together. She also worked for 5 years at the UK Cooperative Extension Office.
She is survived by her three loving children; daughter, Cindy (Don) Boone of Fredonia; sons, Doug
(Michelle) Hurst and Greg (Amy) Hurst of Paducah; five grandchildren, Toby, Ashton, Samantha,
Brandon & Macy; three great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Taylor & Kaitlyn along with several nieces &
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Deward Hurst; her parents, Ether & Ada Belle Polk Turner; sisters, Trudy Dunn & Zelpha Lamon; brothers, Coy Joyce, Herbert Joyce, Marshall Turner & Jackie Turner.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Charles Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00PM on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
