Nell Florence

Nell Marie Young Florence, 80, of Paducah, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at 7:55am at Lourdes Hospital. She was born in Paducah on April 5, 1932 to the late Frank S. Young, Sr. and Hallie Tucker Young. Nell was the former Director of Paducah-McCracken County Senior Citizens, having worked there for 29 years. She organized the chartered bus tours for the Senior Citizens groups, having traveled all over the United States with them. She was a volunteer for RSVP and participated in the Telephone Reassurance Program, placing phone calls to seniors each Tuesday. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah and the Kitchen Band, which volunteered at local nursing homes. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Boyarski and husband Phillip and Becky Hunt and husband Greg all of Paducah. She was known as "Mimi" by her beloved grandchildren, Wesley Kay Boyarski, Robby Florence, Lori Beth Lile, Jackie Lile and Zachary Boyarski. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her son, Robert H. Florence, Jr.; four siblings, Frank S. Young, Jr., Manie Bunger, Hallie Kelley, and Martha Johnson; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
