Melba Fooks

June 15, 1920 — October 9, 2013

Melba June Fooks, 93, of Paducah, formerly of Illinois, died at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at her daughter's home.

She was a retired cashier for Pay Less Drugs. She was a member of Southland Baptist Temple and a former member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Story of Gilbertsville and Harolyn Henson of Paducah; one son, Rev. (Sonny) Edward Payne of Paducah; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Charles Payne, Harold Davenport, and Willie Fooks. Her parents were Charles Calvin Fain and Iola Carroll Fain.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Topper Council and Roger Whetstone officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Friday, October 11, 2013, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Deaf Department of Southland Baptist Temple, 927 Yarbro Lane, Paducah, KY 42003 or to St Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
