Mary Joretta "Jodi" Whitten, 82, of Decatur, Ala., formerly of Paducah, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton in Moulton, Ala.
She was a registered nurse and previously worked for the Riverside Hospital. She was a member of Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth D. Whitten; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Greg Allen Cooper and David Lee Cooper; and one brother, Elmer A. Gregory. Her parents were Elmer and Donye B. Smith Gregory.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with her husband Kenneth D. Whitten officiating. Burial will be in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
