Mary Jane Sears Britton, 88, of Paducah died at 10:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
She was one of the founding members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was a member of Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Stenger of Cincinnati and Linda Hatcher of Paducah; one son, Steve Britton of Mayfield; one sister, Martha Anne Cruse of Paducah; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Britton; one grandchild; and one brother. Her parents were Robert M. Sears and Anna Corder Sears.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Gregory Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church, 300 Fountain Ave., Paducah, KY 42001; or to Lourdes Hospice, P.O. Box 7100, Paducah, KY 42002.
