Joel Anthony Scarbrough, 51, of Paducah died at 1:59 p.m. Monday at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was of the Baptist faith, Chief building Inspector/Director for City of Paducah. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman and past President of Code Administrators Assoc. of KY.
Survivors include his mother, Joanne Harris Schaeffer of West Paducah; four sisters, Nancy Upchurch of Kevil, Tammi Scarbrough, Kelly Scarbrough, both of West Paducah; and Monty Nichols of Kuttawa; one brother, Rev. Anthony Schaeffer of West Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Scarbrough.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Joe Beal and Glen Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
