Hazel Poyner

Hazel Summers Poyner, 89, of Paducah, KY passed away at 1:42 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Baptist Health Paducah. She retired from Bellsouth after 36 years of service.

Hazel was born in Fork Mountain, TN on June 25, 1925 to Homer and Earthel Summers. She enjoyed traveling, yard work and flower gardening, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She will be greatly missed by her companion, a West Highland Terrier - Buddy.

Hazel's true joy was derived from taking care of the men in her life, whom she is survived buy; her son Mark Poyner of New London, MO and her grandson, Joe Michael Poyner, the son of Sharon Channell and Mike Poyner.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Lingle and J.T. Poyner; her parents, Homer Summers and Earthel Long Summers; her sister, Wanda Carroll and brother, Jack Summers.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, May 18, 2015 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Jason Logsdon will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
