Hazel Holland

November 6, 1913 — February 19, 2012

KEVIL - Hazel T. Holland, 98, of Kevil passed away peacefully at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

She was a retired teacher at Heath Middle School and was active in the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association for many years. At the time of her death, Mrs. Holland was the oldest living graduate of Heath High School. She was a longtime active member of Olivet Baptist Church, where she taught the Adult Women's Sunday School class for many years.

Surviving are one son, David M. (Pat) Holland, M.D., of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Holland; one sister, Jo Ann Grief of Kevil; four grandchildren, Taylor, Glenn, Damon and Nikki Holland; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Everett Holland; one son, Martin Holland; and one sister, Vellon Vance. Her parents were Dellie and Nora Taylor.

The family wishes to express their special thanks to caregivers LaDon and Mike Record and Jo Ann Grief for their love and support.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Olivet Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
