Frances Fondaw

Mrs. Frances Dimmick Fondaw, lifelong resident of Paducah, died Tuesday at 5:51pm at her home. She was 100 years old. She was the oldest child of the late James Oscar Dimmick, Sr. and Annis Amanda Crouch Dimmick. She was born March 2, 1915 in Paducah.

Frances was a graduate of Augusta Tilghman High School and attended Paducah Junior College. She was employed at Claussner Hosiery Company for many years and retired from Schuette and Taylor CPA at the age of 65.
She was the oldest member of Arcadia United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women, Samaritan Sunday School Class and the Cinnamon Sisters.

Survivors include three sisters, Annis Jean Fondaw and Dorothy Baumgardner, both of Paducah, and Betty Mattingly of Villa Hills, KY. Other survivors include ten nieces and nephews, Charla Fondaw Corzine, Karen Fondaw Stone, Elisabeth Fondaw Ransdell, Jennifer Baumgardner White, James Dimmick Baumgardner, Joseph William Baumgardner, John Anthony Baumgardner, Jeffrey Andrew Baumgardner, William Steele Mattingly, and Elisabeth Mattingly Kuhlman; five great nieces and fourteen great nephews; and seven great-great nieces and four great-great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Ernest Fondaw, Jr.; two brothers, the Right Reverend William A. Dimmick and James Oscar Dimmick, Jr.

A celebration of the life of Frances Dimmick Fondaw will be held at 11am Friday at Arcadia United Methodist Church with Dr. Ben Boone and Dr. Paul Mullikin officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-7pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 10am Friday at the church.
