Evelyn Caroll Holland-Cox, 66, Paducah, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 10:30 p.m., at her residence in Paducah.
She was a member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully with the Hospitality and Greeting Ministry. She was a substitute teacher at West Kentucky Easter Seals Center, attended Paducah Community College, and served as a Notary.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Tamara (Les) Thomas-Gough of the United Kingdom and Heather (Thomas) Browne-Rawlins of Paducah; two granddaughters, Donielle (Isiah) Brymer-Holt of Houston, Texas, and Chelsea Overstreet of Paducah; two grandsons, Barron K. Gary II of Paducah and Reuben Patrick of the United Kingdom; one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Brymer of Houston, Texas; her mother, Frances Holland of Paducah; a sister, Renee' (Michael) Holland-McCrary of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Patrick Holland of Bowling Green; one god-sister, Aline Griffin of Paducah; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Thomas A. Cox; and her father, Reuben L. Holland.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 9, 2013, Noon, at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend James L. Hudson officiating. Entombment will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
