Edwin "Eddie" U. Thomis Sr., 88, of Jordan, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013, at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.

He was born February 14, 1925, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late William E. Thomis and Iola Belle Underwood Thomis.

Eddie was president of Twin States Baseball and vice president of Little League baseball in Paducah. He also coached Little League for 12 years. Mr. Thomis was a Duke of Paducah and worked in sporting goods for over six decades. He was owner of Eddie's Sporting Goods, manager of Lack's Sportsman's Paradise, and in sales for Dunn's Sporting Goods. Eddie was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was a member of Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Ruby Thomis; his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin Jr. and Roni Thomis of Union, Kentucky, and Rick and Robin Thomis of Jordan, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
