Constance Lee (Uebner) Donley 78 of Gilbertsville, Kentucky passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.
She was born in Quincy, Illinois on November 13, 1935. She was the eldest daughter of Lester and Virginia Uebner. She married Floyd Donley December 26, 1958. She graduated from Park College (1957) with a degree in Elementary Education and got her Masters from University of Illinois (1962) with a degree in
curriculum development and was a retired school teacher. Her most recent teaching positions were adjunct teacher at Hopkinsville Community College and Murray State University.
She enjoyed her Silver Sneakers exercise class, playing tennis and watching her children and grandchildren play whatever sport was in season. She made almost every home basketball game of her granddaughter's college career in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She experienced international travel including a trip to Turkey on a
youth scholarship in 1953 with The Experiment of International Living and two pilgrimages to Haifa, Israel.
Connie was a member of the Baha'i Faith and lived everyday to make a difference. She surrounded herself with youth and social diversity. She fought passionately for racial unity and equality. She served on numerous committees including Interracial Women's Club, Calling all Colors, NAACP, Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club, Baha'i regional committee, and Kentucky Baha'i School.
She had three children Susan Lynn (Crystal Lake, IL), Brian Joseph (deceased), David Kamyar (Highlands Ranch, Co), and two grandchildren Michael R. Burton, and Katherine M. Burton. Also surviving, her sister Jacquelyn (Uebner) Oswald of Richardson, Texas, her son-in-law Jeffrey Burton, daughter-in-law Amy
Donley, and 12 nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home in Paducah, Kentucky on Friday, September 5 from 5-7pm and Saturday, September 6, 1-3 pm. Funeral service will also be held at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, at 3pm.
The family would like you to join us for a celebration of life, dinner and fellowship at the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 South 8th Street, Paducah (activity center) following the burial at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
