Clyde Vincent King Sr., 71, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. King was retired from the Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division, as well as an inventor and business entrepreneur. He enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycles, carpentry and collecting coins. He also loved country gospel music. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart; and holds several US patents.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Paducah; two sons, Clyde Vincent King Jr. of Paducah and Charles Benjamin King of Paducah; three daughters, Tammie Layne White of Olive Branch, Miss., Ann Margaret King of Paducah and Pamela Reed of Paducah; two brothers, Vernon King of Jefferson City, Mo., and Gary King of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one special cousin/brother, David Waynick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mable King; three brothers, Larry King, Jim Rankin and Lynn Rankin; and one sister, Inez Lueter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at Lindsey Funeral Home with Greg Rednour officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
