Chettie Gregory

September 19, 1918 — June 6, 2012

Chettie Nell Fields Gregory, 93, of Paducah and a native of Calloway County, died Thursday at 10:52 p.m. at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Chettie was a member of Clements Street Church of Christ, formerly worked at Credit Bureau and was switchboard operator at Lourdes hospital for eighteen years.

Survivors include one son, Reginald Dale (Reggie) Fields and wife, Carol Jean of Reidland; one brother, Hal Cole of Paducah; five grandchildren, Eric (Amanda) Fields, Monica Fields, Stacey (Nicholas) Noland, Renae Edington and Melissa (Alan) Simmons; seven great-grandchildren, Isabella Fields, Grace Fields, Allison Fields, Lakyn Noland, Braedyn Noland, Emily Simmons and Hannah Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Marvin Fields; her second husband, Cleveland Gregory; her parents, Obediah Cole and Cora Mae Skaggs Cole; two sisters, Beva Mitchell and Nita Gipson; four brothers, Dewey, Ted, Fred and Tommy Cole.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Terrell Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, at the funeral home.
