Bobbie Miller

November 17, 1947 — December 11, 2011

CALVERT CITY - Bobbie Jean Miller, 64, loving and loyal daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, aunt-in-law, great-aunt, cousin and friend, went home to be with her Heavenly Father at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011, at her home in Calvert City, Ky.

Bobbie was born November 17, 1947, the daughter of Robert Chaffin and Emma Rebecca Gore Miller at Riverside Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

Bobbie spent her childhood in Metropolis, Ill., where she attended Clark Grade School, Metropolis Junior High and was a graduate of Metropolis High School. After graduation she worked as a model and later as an antique dealer. She attended Paducah Community College for two years and then worked in childcare where she dearly loved working with the children. She was a dedicated and compassionate lady who enjoyed working with senior adults, which eventually led to her life's calling of working with senior adults for the McCracken County seniors program.

She was of the protestant faith and dearly loved her Lord. She previously attended Goreville United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending gospel singings. She had a sweet voice and a beautiful smile that would light up any room. She enjoyed writing poetry and had several poems published. She enjoyed taking long walks and traveling with her family.

Bobbie was a strong lady and lived her life as full as possible. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially planning holiday parties for all of them to enjoy.

Her loving and devoted survivors include her mother, Emma Rebecca Gore Miller of Calvert City, Ky.; sister, Shirley Ann Miller (Manul) Goins of Goreville, Ill.; nephews, Greg (Raetta) Goins of West Frankfort, Ill., and Eric (JoAnn) Goins of Goreville, Ill.; great-nieces, Raeghan and Macy Goins of Goreville, Ill.; many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Chaffin Miller, who she dearly loved and missed since his death in 2004. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Goreville United Methodist Church, 116 West Adams, Goreville, IL 62939. In Memory of Bobbie Jean Miller.
