Billy Joe Dowell, 81, of Paducah, died Friday January 3, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
He was a retired welder for Walker Boat Yard and a US Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Dowell of Chapin, S.C. and Billy Joe Dowell of Lexington, S.C.; one daughter, Karen Perez of Lexington, S.C.; and three brothers, Bob Dowell, Donald Dowell, and Michael Dowell, all of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by one sister; and one daughter, Donna Ferrin. His parents were Carl and Mary Elizabeth Toy Dowell.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2013, at Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah.
Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
